The Group Senior Financial Analyst is a key contributor to the Vascular financial planning processes and month-end sales management reporting. Results from the incumbents work are provided directly to executive Vascular management, Medical Device headquarters and Corporate to be used in consolidating the total Abbott financial plans or sales results. Goal setting and measurement are made against these submissions. The integrity and validity of financial information is critical to the organization in making timely and informed business decisions. The Group Senior Financial Analyst operates with a significant amount of autonomy, works independently, interfaces directly with the Vascular Controller and proactively navigates the Vascular and Med Device network to accomplish goals/tasks.
Primary Job Function
Key financial coordinator for Abbott Vascular global FP&A efforts. Maintains the master sales schedules for internal reporting of LBEs and actuals that are distributed broadly to executive management. Manages the budgeting and actuals reconciliation process for key Division level cost centers.
Core Job Responsibilities
Coordination of financial planning processes including creation and distribution of templates, instructions and guidelines for all AV FP&A groups worldwide. This requires extensive interface and coordination within the division interacting directly with key financial managers.
Ensures completeness and accuracy of the financial plans and month-end sales management reporting. Often requires adhoc analysis for investigate and interpret financial results.
Analyzes and prepares presentations of financial materials for meetings with the Vascular and Corporate/Med Device senior leadership
Prepares monthly sales consolidation schedules for management reporting, reconciling between systems and working with commercial counterparts. Distributes sales reports utilized by executive management.
Records monthly royalty expenses, reconciles related accrual accounts and processes quarterly royalty payments
Manages the planning and budget to actuals comparison for division level cost centers including legal, division finance and division administration
Interpret financial results and recommend options based upon analysis of data and information.
Establishes partnerships within the business units, commercial and operations organizations to acquire information. Understand other viewpoints cultivating open and honest relationships while promoting common goals.
Responds to ad hoc financial requests
Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance or accounting. CPA and/or MBA desired.
Minimum Experience / Training Required
Four or more years of financial experience demonstrating a progressive level of responsibility.
Provides a holistic view of the global Division allowing for greater learning and understanding of executive decisions driving for success for the organization. Exposure to executive thought processes involved in balancing the multitude of decisions necessary to meet expectations.
High level of visibility across Vascular FP&A and Med Device FP&A.
Significant interfacing with Vascular Controller.
Key Skillset Required
Analytical abilities to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information. Adhoc analysis to interpret results.
Independent worker that can manage workload and take the initiative to solve problems
Proficiency with excel
Knowledge of financial software including Dodeca, HFM, Cognos and SAP a plus.
