This general ledger/senior accountant position will be responsible for the monthly close process and analyzing financial and project information. This position is also responsible for preparing financial reports to determine or maintain records that support the balance sheet accounts including assets, liabilities, as well as details to support expenses, tax liability, and/or other financial activities within an organization including monthly account reconciliations and schedules, account roll forwards, and other reports required for corporate accounting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned):
Prepares bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet schedules.
Completes month end closing journal entries and procedures.
Reviews and processes monthly commission payments and reconciles it with monthly accruals.
Performs internal audits of transactions as necessary.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Assists in preparing budgets and forecasts.
Assists in SOX self-assessment internal control audit processes.
Supports general ledger functions such as A/R, A/P and payroll as required.
Records foreign subsidiary transactions, FX calculations and tax filings.
Assists with other duties as assigned.

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
Knowledge/Skills: Preferred knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial analysis and reporting of financial data. Basic knowledge of business management principles and providing quality customer service. General knowledge of computer system applications including Microsoft Office products. Strong Excel skills preferred. Some project accounting experience and POC Revenue recognition.
Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred. Finance or a related field of study is required. 3-5 years experience in Finance field.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate both written and spoken
Mathematical Skills: Excellent understanding of Accounting Principles. In-depth knowledge over time of company accounting procedures and policies.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to take direction, learn and apply new concepts. Capable of self-directed work with management and peer oversight and instruction.
Attendance Requirement: General business hours depending on business demands. Some extended hours as needed, especially in ME close.
