Serve as financial partner in providing financially-disciplined and innovative support to the HCQA business unit.
Financial business support encompasses financially-disciplined decision making through financial modeling, financial metrics tracking and reporting, and other financial analyses.
Oversee development of short and long-term financial strategy, including the design of financial models, budgets, analyses and forecasts to inform and drive decisions by Executive Teams, as well as the Board and its Committees.
Support organizational planning efforts including efforts to ensure alignment across financial, strategic, human capital, and initiative plans.
Set financial targets, direct financial analyses, design financial models, manage overall calendar, review budgets and plans, and oversee reporting and presentations.
Responsible for accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting, as well as establishing and maintaining a strong system of internal controls.
Drive efforts to develop a collaborative, teamwork-based, transparent culture
Manage the HCQA Finance team. Provide overall direction to team and manage ongoing work and deliverables. Develop, coach, and mentor direct report(s).
Cultivate and build effective partnerships with the business and finance leaders
Manage and lead efforts to transform current practices and procedures to ensure resources and investments are optimized
Oversee efficient operations with an emphasis on automation and risk reduction.
Identify process and technical improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, and partnership.
Oversee BSC financial software and systems with focus on system strength, scalability, and analytics. Enhance systems for analysis, tracking, reporting and forecasting of financial metrics: provide actionable analysis for financial performance, trends and forecasts.
Provide subject matter expertise by participating in, leading, or driving various company/department projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelors degree required, with 10+ years of financial planning and analysis and business decision support experience. Masters degree a plus.
3+ years managing and developing a team is required.
In-depth knowledge and application of financial analysis principles, concepts, standards, and reporting.
Strong understanding of accounting concepts and the financial statement especially the Income Statement is preferred.
Experience with self-led process improvement efforts is preferred
Experience in health insurance and/or medical management preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and foster relationships
Ability to influence business decisions using persuasive analysis and experience
Team player who enjoys collaborating with other individuals who have diverse set of talents
Advanced Excel skills. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Experience in Hyperion Planning and Essbase preferred.
Ability to explain finance concepts and concisely communicate key financial themes to non-finance business people
Effectively plan, organize and prioritize work
Comfortable in situations where there is ambiguity
Propensity to challenge status quo and tackle problems.
Resourceful in tackling problems and willingness to dive into details
