This position reports to the Senior Tax Manager. The candidate must have hands on experiences in the financial reporting of income taxes (ASC 740 and related guidance) and Corporate income tax compliance. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to collaborate with numerous functional teams across the organization and carry out multiple tasks in parallel in a constantly changing environment. Success in this position will require a candidate who can operate independently, demonstrates initiative, a strong attention to detail and a willingness to roll up their sleeves
Work closely with the external tax service provider to prepare/review quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 including financial statement presentation and tax footnotes. Maintain and reconcile all tax accounts;
Liaise with foreign tax service providers to review quarterly tax provisions and corporation income tax returns for foreign subsidiaries with the ability to understand the statutory adjustments and local tax laws;
Act as lead on Federal & state corporate income tax compliance and initiate/implement tax planning ideas to optimize tax positions;
Work with internal business partners to gather data and documentation for the computation of federal and California R&D credits;
Review/prepare quarterly estimated payments and extension payments and maintain the tax calendar for timely filing;
Respond to IRS and state notices and assist in tax audits;
Prepare quarterly GST/HST and annual QST returns for the Canadian subsidiaries, and
Assist in various special tax projects and tax process automation.
Bachelor's degree required, BA/BS in Accounting or Finance preferred.
CPA and/or MST MBA Tax concentration required.
Minimum 8 years of Big4 and industry direct tax experience required.
Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experiences with ASC 740 income tax provision.
Extensive experiences in Federal and State compliances and handling state notices.
Strong analytical skills in both quantitative analysis and tax research.
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong Excel experience required.
