Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the daily operation of the VPC Department, supervising of team members to perform inspections, surveys, and audits as required in the absence of the VPC Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Alert Supervisor / Manager of Quality concerns immediately
  • Assist with training of new staff
  • Assist on completing audits on team members and the VPC process
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow all company policies and procedures
  • Assist with providing guidance and technical support to team members on an ongoing basis regarding changing work procedures, safety precautions, etc.
  • Assist in properly assigning team members to VPC positions for vehicle inspections
  • Report any team member that demonstrates poor work quality to the Supervisor
  • Assist Department Manager in the absence of Supervisor
  • Provide orientation and training to new employees regarding proper work procedures, hazard communication standard and safe work practices in the absence of the VPC Supervisor
  • Assist in the overseeing and supporting of all inspection campaigns and providing detailed tracking of staff support time to manager for submission to accounting for billing
  • Reports to the VPC Manager recurring or serious deficiencies, as they occur in the absence of the VPC Supervisor
  • Assist VPC Supervisor with daily job duty assignments, guidance, and technical assistance.
  • Must willfully perform other tasks as instructed by leadership.
  • Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience in Quality Control or other Auto Port Processing Operations. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Active State issued Drivers License, without restrictions.

  • Long periods of standing, walking, bending and stooping. Must be able to work at heights of approximately 15 feet. Requires vision adequate to detect minor body damage on dirty vehicles

  • General knowledge of computer operations such as Microsoft Excel, Word

  • General knowledge of automobiles and repairs.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to communicate clear and concise instructions to employees.

  • Ability to drive both automatic and standard shift vehicles.Ability to use/operate two-way radio.

  • Prefer to be familiar with the operation of a torque wrenches, air gages, and scales

  • WORKING AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

    This position works in a plant manufacturing/warehouse setting.

    Exposed to moving machinery such as forklifts and production equipment.

    Exposed to loud noise from cars, moving forklifts, and production equipment.

    Exposed to extreme temperatures and dust.

    Exposed to the elements.

    Requires flexibility with schedule including break times and working extended hours when needed. Will work an occasional weekend.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Lifting:

    Ground to Waist Lift (Frequently) up to 25lbs

    Ground to Waist Lift (Rarely) up to 40lbs

    Ground to Waist Lift (Occasionally) up to 50lbs

    Carrying:

    Front Carry (Rarely) 25 ft., carry up to 50lbs

    Pushing/Pulling:

    Dynamic pushing/pulling (vehicle equipment) up to 50 feet

    Dynamic Pushing and Pulling (Occasionally)

    Ambulatory Activity:

    Standing/Walking (Continuously) standing on variable surfaces throughout entire shift

    Climbing (Occasionally) in and around equipment

    Stairs (Occasionally) step up/down from 15 platform/step heights

    Squatting/Stooping/Kneeling: (Occasionally) to as low as ground level while cleaning or picking up products

    Repetitive use of hand/grasping: (Occasionally) light to forceful manipulating/grasping of product

    Reaching: (Frequently) up to 32 inches in front of body at floor to 60 heights while reaching for product.
