Our company is looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting department. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for monitoring general accounting practices, budgeting, developing internal accounting controls, tracking high volume client accounts and building a strong financial team. The successful candidate for this position will report directly to our Director of Finance and play an instrumental role in the financial future of the company.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations including payroll and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation
Maintain existing internal accounting corporate policies and create new policies as needed
Develop monthly and quarterly accounting reports for the management and executive team
Implement and monitor the month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting schedules
Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant experience
3 - 5 years experience in an accounting leadership role
A combination of education and experience that illustrates a proven track record in this field.
Strong budgeting, financial forecasting and financial analysis skills required
Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting
Ten key by touch required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Must have strong computer experience to include QuickBooks and Microsoft Office with a heavy concentration on Excel.
Skills in logically presenting statistical information.
Ability to prepare balance sheets, income statements, and similar financial reports.
Ability to reconcile accounts and to process payroll.
